1.How did you come up with your Instagram name?
When I (finally) decided to start up my own blog after blogging for other publications for a few years, I wanted my content to blend food and fashion. I spent a few days brainstorming what food item and fashion item sounded good together and encompassed my style/taste-buds, and this is what I came up with!
2.It looks like you claim both D.C. And Philly in your bio; which city is your favorite and why?
I just moved to DC a few months ago from NYC, but I visit Philly at least one a month because my boyfriend lives there. I lived in Philly from 2012-2016, and even though I no longer live there I still feel very knowledgeable and up-to-date on their foodie scene, since I get to check out the new places on my monthly visits!
3.Do you call it a steak and cheese or a cheesesteak?
A cheesesteak! And I’ve been told the proper way to order one is “whiz wit.”
4.From your blog, it seems you are a "sexy foodie" lol. What do you think makes a restaurant "sexy" or what makes you feel sexy when you're dining out?
Lol! I’ll take it. To me, nothing is sexier than good service. A restaurant can have a beautiful atmosphere or uber gourmet food, but if the service isn’t up to par, it doesn’t measure up for me. Nothing is sexier than feeling like royalty from a super-attentive server who knows your name, offers “freebies,” and remembers to spell out “Happy Birthday” in chocolate for your dessert course.
5.What's your ideal date attire?
It’s funny you ask that, because when I was actively dating I found myself dressing down/covering up so that my dates didn’t get the wrong idea (so sad that I had to think that way, but that’s the world we live in, unfortunately).
Now that I am in a relationship, I love any excuse to get dressed up for a date, even if it means I’m overdressed for the restaurant/wherever we’ve decided to go. Going out to eat is a perfect excuse to wear heels that wouldn’t be comfy for an all-day event, and also to wear something super sexy since you probably won’t be dealing with anyone but your date and your server. If you have a nip slip, the only person that’ll likely notice is your date 🙂
Funny story, once I wore a very cleavage-heavy top to an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend, and the waiter literally came to our table like a deer in headlights and said, “Oh my God,” before trying to cover up his tracks. He made up for it by giving us a free round of champagne and a personalized dessert, though!
6.What's one thing you wish everyone knew about you?
Ah, this is such a hard question! I think one thing that I always wish people knew about me is that even though it looks like all I do is eat and travel on Instagram, I work super hard! I always have at least five side-hustles at any time and my daily routine (that you don’t see on Instagram) involves wearing workout clothes in the house, eating homemade veggie stir-fry for lunch, and hacking away at my laptop all day.
7.What's your spirit animal?
Does Cookie Monster count?
8.What's one thing you'd hate to not be able to eat for rest of your life?
Dessert! I have the biggest sweet tooth. If I had to pick one, I’d keep it simple and say chocolate chip cookies.
9.When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?
When I was young I wanted to be a fashion designer because I loved drawing, designing, and putting outfits together. One year of college studying fashion design changed that dream fast.
10.What does success in your life/ career look like for you and do you feel you've achieved it?
Success in my life is first and foremost happiness! My goal is to have a career where I’m my own boss and have the ability to travel, since that’s what I’ve found makes me happy. Right now, I have that, so I’m getting closer! I quit my full-time job a few months ago to focus on freelance writing and it’s been going good so far, so I think I’m on the right path for me at this time!
